I have had one of these for several years. I am happy to have a refrigerator/freezer being off grid ,It is great as far as efficiency, only an average of 100 Watts but it does not compare very well with todays technology/durability of the A/C models. It has potential for improvements. The freezer has to be emptied and defrosted every few months, even in the relatively dry winter (in MO). If you live in the quiet off grid country, the compressor is a higher frequency and deffinately disturbs the peace with its high freq. compressor and refrigerant gurgles. The doors are plastic around the hinges and I have had to repair 3x. The refrigerator door removable shelves are brittle and crack easy if loaded with food or bump a dish when closing the door. It is hard to get replacements (made out of the country) I purchased 3 (of the 4) a 4th broke, I taped two of them. Thankfully I have a son that designed and 3D printed me a better door shelf.
Scott and Courtney are the best. The refrigerator arrived in perfect condition. I had previously plumbed in the natural gas line, and everything hooked up perfectly. I had to buy a gas hose and one adapter, and that’s it. And this thing gets colder than my electric refrigerator. I had to back off the thermostat. I wrote Scott and Courtney a few times with some questions and they were Johnny on the Spot with the answers. Very happy.
